Irma Rita Naurette Condon, age 89, died Sunday, March 9, 2014 in Conroe, Texas. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, 4955 Pine St. Beaumont, Texas 77703, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 PM before the service. Mrs. Condon was born in DeRidder, Louisiana on March 19, 1924. She graduated from Vidor High School as the Valedictorian and head cheerleader. She was quite the entertainer, singing for the March of Dimes telethon in Beaumont. She performed solos as a member of the Melody Maids, which toured the United States. She owned a twirling academy, where she and her students led the Annual Martin Luther King Parade here in Beaumont. She and her twirling students also performed in many USO tours. She owned Rita's Ballroom Dancing School and was a gold rated Latin dance instructor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivy J. Condon and her daughter, Lydia Condon. Survivors include her son Dennis Condon and his wife Linda of Conroe, Texas. Six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
