Antone Jimmie James, 85, of LaBelle, died Friday, August 12, 2011, in Houston. A native and lifelong resident of LaBelle, he was born May 13, 1926, to Mary Thibodeaux James and Tony James. He retired as an operator with Temple Inland and was a United States Army Veteran, having served during World War II. Survivors include his daughters, Shirlene James and her husband, Dr. Tim Crist of Houston, and Betty James of Corpus Christi and her son, Dominic White; step-son, Frank Edward Hopkins of Houston; and sisters, Rosemary Sterling of Vidor, and Ellen Cahanin of Fannett. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean James; daughter, Rebecca James; and son, Antone James III. His graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2011, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
