Joyce Evelyn Dauriac Norris, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at her residence in Beaumont. Joyce was born on August 3, 1929, in Beaumont to Laurent Joseph Dauriac, Sr. and Ruby Dauriac. She graduated from South Park High School in 1946 and furthered her education at Lamar University, with a Major in Art. She was a dedicated homemaker and her primary devotion was to her husband and children. She was a faithful Christian and served the Lord for 58 years at Tyrell Park Baptist Church Beaumont and First Baptist Church Cheek, committing herself to teaching young children about Jesus. She loved art and was an active member of the Painted Daisy Chapter. She also sang with the Senior Adult Choir of FBC Beaumont at area nursing home facilities. Joyce had a very outgoing personality and loved meeting people. It was often commented that she never met a stranger. A very caring person, she always placed others' interest before her own. Joyce and husband Cecil enjoyed the outdoors and spent many summers in the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. As expected, they established many deep and lasting friendships with their neighbors. Other travels included ventures to the east and west coasts of America, Mexico, Canada, and Israel. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Cecil E. Norris. Sr.; children, Cecil E. Norris, Jr. and wife, Karin, Michael Ray Norris, Deborah LouAnn Norris, Larry John Norris ad wife Deborah Lynn, all of Beaumont; grandchildren, Ember, Tucker, John, Jr., Meagan, Rachel, and Michael, Jr.; great grandchildren, Brooke and Anderson; sisters, Delores Davis and Kaye Sells of Menard, and Jean Cleere of Hurst; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Laurent Joseph Dauriac, Sr. and Ruby Wallace; Laurent Joseph Dauriac, Jr. of Lumberton; Ray Wallace and Charles Wallace of Hurst. The family would like to thank Altus Hospice Staff for all of their care, love and support shown to Joyce and her family during the last months of her life. Also, thanks to the many years of personal interest and service by her family physician, Dr. John Vardiman. Visitation will be held Friday, September 9, 2011, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Beaumont, Texas.
