Carrie Sue Sears February 11, 1921 - November 3, 2012, of Bryan, TX, formerly of Orange, TX, went to be with her Lord November 3, 2012 at the age of 91. A Memorial Service will be held at Memorial Funeral Chapel-College Station, at November 15, 2012 at 2 pm in College Station, TX. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at the College Station Memorial Cemetery in College Station, TX. Officiating will be Senior Minister Jerry House, Jr. of Christ United Methodist Church. Sue was born in Lois, TX on February 11, 1921. She graduated Valley View High School in Valley View, TX as Valedictorian, graduated Brantley Draughn Business College in Fort Worth, TX, and attended Lamar State College in Orange, TX. She was an active member of Orange Park Avenue United Methodist Church, now known as Faith United Methodist Church, from 1947 to 2007. Sue served as secretary to the Administrative Council of the church for 32 years. She was a member of Wesleyan Service Guild, which later became United Methodist Women, holding many different jobs in both organizations. Sue was a former member of the National Association of Executive Secretaries and held a Real Estate Broker License. She was a volunteer for Orange Christian Services for 19 years. Sue was employed by the Agricultural Adjustment Administration, Gainesville, TX and a secretary for American Bridge Division, U.S. Steel for 8 years. In 1956, she was employed by Firestone Petrochemical Center, Orange, as secretary to the plant manager. The first local person hired when the plant began it's Orange operations, she retired with 25 years service. Survivors include daughter Janet Willie and spouse Marvin Willie of Mountain Home; son Dan Sears and spouse Pattie Sears of College Station; grandaughters, Christi Tipton of Bryan, Staci Palermo and spouse Damon of The Woodlands, and Traci Slocum of College Station. Sue is survived by seven great grandchildren; Tayler, Jordyn, Haley and Jaxon Slocum and Nick, Toni and Luke Palermo. She was preceded in death by her spouse of 69 years, Tom Sears; parents James Davis and Ida Mae Aughtry; brothers J. D. Aughtry, Jr., Dale Aughtry; and sisters Mildred Patterson, Joan Vance and Maydell Stewart.
