Thomas R. Bo Templeton, 75, of Lumberton, died Thursday, January 10, 2013. He was born on April 7, 1937, in Lumberton, to Hazel Maxine Hall and Leroy Templeton. After serving in the United States Air Force, Bo started Templeton Masonry Company. Later he became a member of the Lumberton Masonic Lodge #1430 A.F. & A.M., where he was a Past Master, and 32nd Degree Scottish Rite. Bo was an active member of the Lumberton Little League for many years, as well as being a member of the Lumberton Optmist Club and charter member of the Lumberton Volunteer Fire Department. He had served on the Lumberton City Council for the past six years and was on the Economical Development Board for the City of Lumberton. He also served on the Lamar University Police Academy Advisory Board and the Hardin County United Appeal Board. He also won Citizen of the Year in 2011. Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Frances Stroup Templeton; children, Steven Ray Templeton; Thomas Anthony Templeton; and Carol Donita Templeton, all of Lumberton; sisters, Helen Bunte of Smithville; Gladys Bowers, of Wichita Falls; and Ann Kendrick and her husband, Donnie, of Nederland; brother; Bobby Templeton and his wife, Carol, of Beaumont; and granddaughter, Stephanie Smith and her husband, Ryan, of Waco. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen Anita Templeton; and mother-in-law, Alice Holt Stroup. A gathering of Mr. Templeton's family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2013, at Broussard's, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 14, 2013, at Calvary North Lumberton, 395 Fletcher Road, Lumberton, with a Masonic graveside service to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
