Mell Te M.T. Alford, 78, beloved father and grandfather left this earthly world on Monday, June 3, 2013. M.T. was born on November 3, 1934 in Canton, Texas. While spending all of his life in Beaumont, he looked forward to his childhood summers with his grandparents back on the farm in Canton. A graduate from Beaumont High School, M.T. began work at Gulf States Utilities. Through his work, he received training in electronics and in Relay Technology through the extension agents of Texas A&M University. He retired from Gulf States after thirty years of service. Through all of his success and enjoyment of life, M.T. never forgot his humble upbringing. He is preceded in death by his wife and mother of his girls, Rita Ramos Alford; and his parents, Thelma and Otley Lamey. Survivors include his daughters, Melanie Nunez and her husband, Kevin; and Michelle Rasa and her husband, Ronnie. He will extremely be missed by his five grandchildren, Rita Frances Thornton, Amanda Alford, Alvin Michael Bob Savoy; and twins, Speed and Roadie Rasa.
