Julian L. Shoemake, age 85, died on Monday, July 22, 2013 at The Woodlands, TX. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Mr. Shoemake was born on April 26, 1928 in Moore, TX to Richard and Addie Dixson Shoemake. He served as a Sargent First Class in the United States Army during the Korean War. All four of his brothers also served in the military at the same time as he did. Mr. Shoemake graduated from Freer High School. He graduated from Texas Southwest Jr. College and then went on to Baylor University and graduated in 1957. He is preceded in death by his parents. Three brothers, Gerald Shoemake, Leo Shoemake and Theo Shoemake. Two grandchildren, Jessica Alexander and Brandon Alexander. Survivors include his three daughters, Delinda Shoemake of Atascocita, TX, Tonya Holloway of Huffman, TX and Brenda Alexander of Athens, TX. One brother, Col. Charles Shoemake and his wife Ann of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
