Lance Cpl. Jeremy Wade Burris, USMC 22, of Liberty was killed on October 8, 2007 near the city of Al Qaim in the Al Anbar province of Iraq. Funeral services will be held at Cornerstone Church in Liberty on Tuesday, October 16, at 11 A.M. A gathering of family and friends will be on Monday, October 17 from 5-8 P.M. at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, from 5-8 P.M. Jeremy was born on December 3, 1984 in Austin, TX to parents Brent and Karla Burris. He attended Lee College in Baytown and a community college in Tacoma, Washington after completing home school. He attended Cornerstone Church in Liberty prior to moving to Washington. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Meryl Cox and uncle, John Alan Cox. He is survived by his parents; brothers and sisters, Bryan, Stephen, Nathan , Rebekah, Joel and Bethany as well as his grandparents, D.F. and Billie Burris.
