Lucille Hatcher Waldron, 87, of Bedford, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013. She was born in Bedford County on the Claytor Farm on Sept. 11, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Oscar Janney Hatcher and Eddie Key Hatcher and was one of five children. Her brothers Jack and Glenn Hatcher and her sister Nell preceded in death. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Ralph Waldron, two daughters Debbie W. Carter, husband David, and Jan Waldron, two granddaughters Elizabeth C. Ellinger and Jennie Potter, husband Shawn, and great-grandson Casey Ellinger. She also is survived by her sister Nancy Lambert and other family members. The family would like to thank the Medi Home Hospice, in particular Teresa Deisher, and also the caregivers for their compassionate care. A graveside service was held at 11 am Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke. A Celebration of her life was held 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 at Bedford Baptist Church with Dr. David L. Henderson officiating. To Ralph and all of Lucille's family- our deepest sympathies for your loss.
