Ollweiler, Robert E. - Moneta  
Robert “Bob” Edward Ollweiler, 88, of Moneta, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014 at his residence. Bob was born in New York City on Aug. 22, 1926. He was the son of the late George Robert Ollweiler and Margaret Layer Ollweiler. In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan Scarth Ollweiler and a son Dale Robert Ollweiler. Bob served his country in the United States Army Air Core. He enjoyed boating, fishing, water sports, baseball, and reading. He was active in the community. Bob was involved with Lake Christian Ministries, Lions Club, Bedford Ride, and he was a volunteer math teacher at Montea Elementary and Staunton River Middle School. He was also a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Moneta. Bob is survived by his son, Wayne E. Ollweiler and his wife, Angela; three grandchildren, Cassandra Rullman, Zachary Rullman and Emma Joan Ollweiler; one sister, Barbara Reynolds and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2014, at 11 am at Resurrection Catholic Church, with Deacon Chris Barrett officiating. There will be a reception to follow in the fellowship hall. Overstreet, Floyd L. - Thaxton  
Floyd L. Overstreet, 71 of Thaxton, VA passed away Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on Thursday, Jan. 7, 1943 in Tazewell Co., a son of the late Willie Mack "Buckshot" Overstreet and Hazel Victoria Johnson Overstreet. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ida Belle Overstreet Overstreet, sisters, Freda Little, Katie Lynch, Effie Amos and Nina Frances Pritchard and brothers, Fred, Frank and William Mack Overstreet. He was retired from the Rubatex Corportation. Surviving are his daughters, Tina Milton, Lucinda Veach, Doris Thompson; sons, Larry Massey, Michael Malloy; sisters, Flora Shelton, Ellen Overstreet as well as grandchildren, Caitlin Milton, Diane Jarels, Phillip Milton and Timothy. A memorial service was held on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 at 11 am at Mountain View Union Church with Rev. Bob Sowder and Rev. Mike Smith officiating. A reception followed at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
