Mildred A. Overstreet

Mrs. Mildred “Millie” Allen Overstreet, 81, of Moneta, went home to be with her Heavenly Father and beloved husband on Sunday, March 30, 2014. Born in Nov. 1932, she was a native of Bedford County, and the daughter of Homer and Lina Allen. She was a dedicated prayer warrior and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. A member of Chamblissburg Baptist Church for over 50 years, she spent many happy times with the youth of the church, enjoyed singing in the choir, and teaching her ladies Sunday School class. After retirement from Halmode Apparel, she was able to spend even more time carrying out the Great Commission. Her joy was found in her Lord, and because of her witness and prayers many will rejoice with her again in Heaven one day. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Warren Guy Overstreet II; her father and mother, two brothers, and six sisters. She is survived by her sister, Sheron Cheek, and husband, Roger, of Bedford County; son, Warren Guy Overstreet III and wife, Jennifer, of Montpelier; daughter, Dianne Webb and husband, Tom, of Ayden, NC; grandchildren, T.W. Webb and wife, LouAnne, of Winston-Salem, NC; Heather Smith and husband, Scott, of Phoenix, AZ; Holly Entzminger and husband, Daniel, of Greenville, NC; Claire Overstreet of Haymarket; Byron Overstreet of Ashland; Ian Overstreet of Bristow; great grandchildren, Courtney and Ryan Edwards; Ian Smith; Cherith, Marcus, and Michael Webb; Olivia, Eliza, and Christian Entzminger; and many wonderful friends. Fulfillment of her favorite Psalm has come at last: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bibles International, 609 36th Street SE, Grand Rapids, MI, 49548. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014, at Chamblissburg Baptist Church with Pastor Joel Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
