Patricia C. Harris

On Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, Patricia Carter Harris, 62, of Forest, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born in Bedford, March 3, 1950, Pat was an active member of Thomas Road Baptist Church and her Bible Study Group. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling the world, and camping on Smith Mountain Lake. Pat especially enjoyed her hobby of the art of painting landscapes and still life. Pat enjoyed her associates and friends with Mary Kay Cosmetics as a Consultant. Prior to her association with Mary Kay, she had been a computer sales representative for ALI/Database, and Framatome. Pat was preceded in death by her father, John Willie Carter of Bedford, and her father-in-law, Claude A. Harris, Sr. She is survived by her husband Claude A. Harris, Jr. of Forest; her daughter, Carol Schultis and her husband, Steve of Austin, Texas; her son, Jason Coleman and his wife Sandie of Bristow; and four grandchildren, Samantha, Emily, Jacob, and Trista, all of Bristow. Pat is also survived by her mother, Nellie Carter Young; four sisters, Sandy Worley and Dickie Pulliam, Donna White, Bonnie Perkins and her husband, Charlie; and a brother, Mike Carter, all of Bedford and several special nieces and nephews. Additional survivors include her mother-in-law, Betty E. Harris of Evington; three step-children, Sandy H. Glass and her husband Russell of Evington, Natalie Harris and Marshall Harris both of Lynchburg; two step-grandchildren, Matthew Glass and Sydney Glass, both of Evington; her little sister through Big Brothers and Sisters, Marisha Jackson; and Pat’s canine family member, Penny. The family will receive friends 6 p.m. â€" 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 at Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory, 427 Graves Mill Road, Lynchburg. A memorial service will immediately follow at 7 p.m., in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Service conducted by the Rev. Jonathan Falwell and the Rev. David Heerspink. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Thomas Road Baptist Church, 1 Mountain View Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24502.
