Patrick White Obituary

On Friday April 19, this world lost a loving father and caring friend. Patrick Donald Allen White, born on March 13, 1982, attended Staunton River HS, was a long time resident of the area and most recently resided in Elkton, VA. Although he was taken from us far too early, no one can say “Pat did not live life to the fullest. He was always on the go, whether it was working on cars, spending time with his best friend and “future ex-wife (Wendie Eppard), Elkton, driving to Illinois to visit family, hauling scrap, playing baseball, or bending over backwards to help others. Patrick would literally give someone in need the shirt off of his back, I have seen it. Even though Pat will be deeply missed, his family is comforted in knowing that he is fishing in the Chrystal Sea with his grandpa and sister. Left behind to tell his stories include his mother and father, Stephen and Donna Etherton of Elkton; Father and step mother, Gary and Paula Tyner of Cambria, IL; two sisters, Lindsay Etherton of Rocky Mount and Lacey Etherton, her husband Nathan Sampson and Pat’s nephew Elijah Sampson of Shenandoah; brother: Matt Tyner of Cambria; Grandmother: Virginia Etherton of Murphysboro; his children, whom we will tell the stories to, Colton and Nakota; numerous Aunts and Uncles including, Don and Helen Edmonds of Valier, Amos Mitchell and Celina Seibert of Sesser, Bob and Patricia Coffel of Sesser, Terry Glancy of Vigler, Brad and Denise Etherton of Murphysboro, Carolyn Taylor of Carbondale, Jack and Delores Leeper of Carterville, Monty and Monica Tyner of Cambria, Darell and Jolene Masters of Herrin, a host of cousins and scores of friends from Vinton, Bedford, and Elkon areas. He is preceded in death by grandparents Donald and Deloris White of Valier, Lawrence Etherton of Murphysboro, Henry and Demova Tyner of Cambria; his sister Melanie and several uncles and aunts. A Memorial was held Friday April, 26 at Fallon Park (field #2) in Bedford, from 4 to 6 pm.

Donna, Just found out about Patrick and wanted to let you and all your family know how sorry I am. I wish I had just the right words to make all of this easier for you. Someone said to me when one of my parents died "the pain never goes away it just gets a little easier with time" and I hope those words will help you.

I haven't actually seen Patrick in many years but, remember him as a very kind and sweet person I would get so excited to when my sister would tell me she was babysitting for Patrick and his sisters and would always beg to go with her so I could play with Patrick.
