Ronald M. Wuergler

Major Ronald “Ronnie” M. Wuergler, 67, of Bedford, died Saturday, July 13, 2013, at his home. He is a son of the late Lewis Clay Wuergler and the late Clara Mattie Robertson Wuergler. Ronnie graduated from Moneta High School and pursued a career in law enforcement working for 31 years with the Department of Corrections, Bedford County Sheriff’s Department, and ending his career as a Major with the Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Rebecca “Becky” Eubank Wuergler; three children, a daughter, Kristi Wuergler Krantz and her husband, Todd, of Huddleston, a son, Rodney Nelson Wuergler and his fiancée, Morgan Newcome, of Moneta, a stepdaughter, Michelle Harmony and her husband, Michael, of Forest; five grandchildren, Lauren Harmony of Forest, Skylar Bergeron of Moneta, Ashley Harmony of Forest, Austin Wuergler of Moneta and Dakota Krantz of Huddleston; and his precious little dog, Pepper. Ronnie was a loving father and husband. He cherished time spent with his family, his many friends and coworkers. A celebration of Ronald’s life will be conducted Thursday, July 18, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Tharp Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mark Wilkerson officiating. Law Enforcement Honors will be given by members of the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office and Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 17, 2013, from 4 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
