Alice Arrington Key, 69 of Bedford, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014 at Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on Saturday, Feb. 24, 1945 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Elbert Arrington and Mildred Alice Witt Arrington. She was a retired employee of Peoples Furniture and was a member of Mountain View Union Church. Surviving is her husband, Walter Gerald Key; two daughters, Geraldine Franklin and husband, Alan, Susan Tinsley and husband, John all of Bedford; five grandchildren, Ashley, Logan and Caleb Franklin, Jonathan and Jarrett Tinsley; brothers, Bobby Arrington and wife, Barbara of Monroe, Tommy Arrington and wife, Pam of Bedford; sister-in-law, Carolyn Robertson and husband, Billy of Bedford as well as several nieces and nephews. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Bedford Lifesaving Crew, P. O. Box 161, Bedford, VA 24523 or Mountain View Union Church, P. O. Box 94, Bedford, VA 24523. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 at 11 am at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Pastor Michael B. Smith officiating. Interment followed in Suck Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
