Betty T. Luck, 67, of Goode, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015. Betty was the daughter of the late Edwin P. and Elizabeth Trainham of Beaverdam, Virginia. Betty is survived by her husband; Alfred T. “Fred” Luck, children; Brian and Denise Luck, Christina “Sissy” and Dana Luck, grandchildren; Taylor, Morghan, Joseph, and Jade, great grandchild; Katherine. Mom was an amazing woman with many passions and loves. Books, antiques, plants, animals and her love of writing are evident throughout her home. Her beloved pug “Elsie” will miss her greatly. To know mom was to love her. If you ever had the opportunity to meet her or see her somewhere you always walked away with a smile and a good hearty laugh. There were no strangers in mom’s life, just people who hadn’t had the great pleasure of meeting her yet. Mom hugged you with her whole body and always had encouraging words to say. Heaven is a little brighter and we are a little sadder without mom’s welcoming arms. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Cancer Treatment Center of Virginia, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or a children’s hospital of your choice. A funeral service will be held 12 p.m., Monday, Oct. 19, at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Thomas officiating, burial will follow at Virginia Memorial Park. Family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18, at Burch-Messier Walnut Street Chapel. Arrangements by Burch-Messier Funeral Home, Bedford, 540-586-7360.
