David Clinton â€œD.C.â€Owens, Jr., 77, of Bedford, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 13, 2014. Born in Pulaski, he was the son of the late David C. Owens, Sr. and Ruth Nellie Quesenberry Owens. He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Larry Worsham and Buddy North, of Bedford. He was a retired Boilermaker and also the owner of D.C.â€™s Auto Sales for ten years. He loved playing music, playing in a band, Country Playboys, in his younger years along with a brother and friends. He loved buying cars, working on them, and racing. He is survived by his second wife, Rebecca Turpin Owens, of Bedford; sons, David C. Owens, Daniel C. Owens and wife Anita, of Virginia Beach; daughter, Sonja O. Johnson and husband Barry, of KY; step-son Hunter Turpin, of Bedford; adopted daughter Nikki Owens of PA; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Patsy North and Mary Worsham of Bedford; Ruth Owens, of Lynchburg; brothers, John Owens and wife Becky, James Owens and wife Joanne, of Bedford, Fred Owens and wife Chris, of Pulaski, Donald Owens, of S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials can be made to Bedford County Life Saving Crew. A memorial service was held 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 15th, at Burch-Messier Walnut Street location.
