Douglas Michael Garrett, 69, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born Nov. 20, 1944 in Bradford, Ontario, Canada, a son of the late Marie Nora “Babe” Graham Garrett and Douglas Harry Garrett. Douglas was a member of Church Alive International. He also served in the US Navy during Vietnam and was a retiree of RR Donnelly. Douglas is survived by his wife of 17 years, Pamela Wright Garrett; a daughter, Alicia Noelle Garrett of Roanoke; step-daughter, Andrea Nichole Cooper of Lynchburg; and three brothers, James F. Garrett of Orlando, FL, Patrick J. Garrett of Forest, and Michael D. Garrett of Bedford. A celebration of Douglas’s life was conducted at 11 AM, Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at the Tharp Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vannie Harrell officiating.
