Gregory Patrick Gilhuly, 60, loving husband of Patricia Zamjohn Gilhuly died, September 21, 2012. Born January 9, 1952 in Sudbury, Ontario Canada to the late Francis G. Gilhuly and Amanda Tremblay Gilhuly, he moved to Michigan at the age of 3 and became a U.S. citizen as an adult. In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Stefani (Reynolds) Gilhuly, Adraya McGee Barger and husband, Mike; Erin Gilhuly Compton and husband, Bobby; one brother, Larry Gilhuly and wife, Sandra, of Roanoke; six grandchildren; Tyler Reynolds, Lauren Reynolds, Aeric Barger, Shirley Barger, Ada Compton and Nora Compton; numerous nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews, in-laws and outlaws to remember him as well. He was employed by US Food Service for 30 years and was an excellent salesman. He was loved and respected by his customers and peers alike. His focus in life was work, family and church. He was an active member of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church and attended parochial school in his youth. He was fun, kind and a great dancer. All the ladies would want to dance with him at a party and he taught everyone the “finger shuffleâ€. We will miss our laughing, loving, hardworking husband, Dad, Grumpy, brother, uncle, and son-in-law and green bean salesman tremendously. Heaven will be much livelier with him there and this world a little less fun. So long for now my best friend, see you after while. Memorials may be made to Centra Hospice, 3300 Rivermont Ave. Lynchburg, VA 24503. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church with Father Salvador Añonuevo presiding. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
