H. Aubrey Bowyer, 89, of Bedford County passed away peacefully on June 20, 2015. Aubrey was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church and was employed by Norfolk Southern for 39 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Mac H. Bowyer; mother, Fannie Bowyer; three brothers and four sisters. Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Ester Bowyer; daughters and sons-in-law, Michael and Patricia Maxey, of Williamsburg; Ronnie and Susan King, of Salem; Basil and Joy Bays, of Bedford; Travis and Donna Williams, of Vinton; and Dennis and Angela Roberson, of Roanoke. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, Brooke (Joe) Claveloux, Daniel (Kathryne) King, Leslie (Shaun) Stols, Bradley (Montana) Bays, Justin (Sarah) King, Blake (Michelle) Roberson, Brittany (Adam) Madson, Michael and Paul Williams, Amy and Bailey Roberson, eight great-grandchildren, Allison, Abigail, Tyler, Alexis and Jacob Claveloux, Benjamin and Andrew Bays and Brantley Roberson; one brother, Clarence (Dorothy) Bowyer, of Vinton and many nephews and nieces. Special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please consider Mineral Springs Baptist Church Building Fund. Funeral service was held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Mineral Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Rice and Rev. Jason Gault officiating. Interment followed in Mountain View Cemetery. The family received friends on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakeyâ€™s Vinton Chapel.
