Janet Adel Nuckolds Rainey, 74, of Bedford, died Monday, July 31, 2017. She was born in Huddleston, VA on June 3, 1943, a daughter of the late Helen Paschel Nuckolds and Rex Coleman Nuckolds. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Tillman Rainey; companion, Bobby Michael; brother, Robert Rex Nuckolds, sister-in-law, Kathy Nuckolds; and brother-in-law, Charlie Bigard. Janet was a member of Patmos Baptist Church and attended Central Church of Christ of Bedford. She was also a member of Women of the Moose and Bedford Elks Lodge. She is survived by her children, Frieda R. Harman and husband, Tommie, William Glenn Rainey and wife, Tami; five grandchildren, Brandon Booth and wife, Melissa, Jessica Harman Gusler and husband, Matthew, James Kelton Rainey and Kelsey Dhaisher, Rebecca Danielle Rainey and fiancé, Ross Anderson, William Tyler Rainey and wife, Becca; great-granddaughters, Autumn Kaye Cooper, Ellie Chandler Boothe; great-grandsons, Ashton Wayne Cooper, Jackson Graham Boothe, Tommie Tucker Gusler; sister, Frances Tuck; three nephews, Jerry and Robbie Tuck, Timothy Nuckolds; three nieces, Priscilla Nuckolds, Rebecca Rowland, Barbara Thomas; extended family, Michele Jesse, Richard Michael, and Robert Michael. Special thanks to care giver, Linda Mayhew and long time friend, Madelyn Dudley. Memorials may be made to the Little Town Players, National D-Day Memorial, or . A Celebration of Life will be held 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 2, at Burch-Messier Walnut Street Chapel, 1235 Walnut Street, Bedford.
