Jeanette Fitzgerald Overstreet 67, lost her battle with Lung Cancer on January 10, at her residence. She was born December 19, 1948 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Odell Lee Fitzgerald and Blanche Rice Fitzgerald McLain. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Renee Abbott; a son, Christopher Michael Abbott; her sister Betty F. Brookshier and her nieces Sheri Cofer Thrift and Alisa B. Neal. Jeanette was employed by Smyth Companies/Piedmont Label for almost 30 years and most recently, Croft Senior Services. Jeanette loved those â€œgirlsâ€ at Croft with all her heart. She is survived by her sons, Nelson Ray â€œChipâ€ Abbott and finance, Angie England; Jason Odell Abbott and finance, Sherri Hall; her brother Wayne L. Fitzgerald and wife, Nancy; twin sister, Janet F. Overstreet; grandchildren, Ashton Abbott Hicks and husband, David; Chelsea Moss and Landon Odell Abbott; great-grandchildren, Tristyn, Rylee, Isabella, Aedan and Kenzie; several nieces and nephews and a special canine companion, Bandit. The family would like to thank Bedford Hospice, especially Debra Coleman and Sissy Parker for their love and care during the last few weeks.
