John Keith Lawson, age 50, of 1762 Todd Rd., and a former resident of Honolulu, Hawaii for 27 years, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 at the Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. Born in Bedford County, he was the son of the late Levi Russell and Edith Orange Lawson. He was also preceded in death by one brother, David Wayne Lawson, and one nephew, Jackson Clay Helbig. Mr. Lawson had worked as a Truck Driver for many years. He was a member of Koa Puna Motorcycle Club of Hawaii. Mr. Lawson was a member of Semora Baptist Church. Survivors include three sisters, Lisa L. Lawson of Elon, Sherry C. Solomon and husband Keith of Roxboro, and Terri Lawson Cane of Williamsburg; twelve nieces and nephews; ten great-nieces and nephews; his three beagles, Na Pua, Lei Lani, and David. Funeral Services were held 11 am, Monday, Aug. 27, 2012 at the Semora Baptist Church by the Pastor Joe Grubbs and the Rev. Carol Brackett. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Taylor Horner, Oscar Diaz, Reese Bailey, Ben Solomon, James Sullivan, and Jonathan Lawson.
