Joyce Cundiff Holdren, 77 of Bedford, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on Monday, Sept. 9, 1935 in Vinton, a daughter of the late Davis W. Cundiff and Mamie Ferguson Cundiff. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Collins Holdren, Sr. She was a bus driver with Bedford County Public Schools and was a member of Quaker Baptist Church, the B. P. O. E Elks Lodge # 321 and the Peaks of Otter Rebekahs Lodge # 32 and was a past Noble Grand. Surviving are her sons, Robert C. Holdren, Jr. and wife, Paula, Timothy D. Holdren and wife, Debbie, all of Bedford; five granddaughters, Megan, Kallie, Laura, Brianna and Natalie Holdren, sister, Nellie Blount of Goodview. Special thanks to a dear friend Rita Calhoun for her care and friendship. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider the , 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at 12 pm at Quaker Baptist Church with Rev. David Timma officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
