Linda Estelle Jackson Waldon Ely, 52, of West Columbia, SC, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013 at Lexington Medical Center. Born in Cheverly, MD, on April 25, 1961, a daughter of Nancy Watts Rowland Jackson and the late Richard Edward Jackson, Jr. of Bedford. In addition to her father, Linda was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, George and Ione Rowland; her paternal grandparents, Richard, Sr. and Estelle Jackson, all of Bedford, and one sister, Teresa Randazzo, of Aiken, S.C. Linda attended church at First United Methodist Church in Red Banks, SC. She served her country in the United States Army. She enjoyed outdoor sports, gourmet cooking, and music. She served for several years as student counselor and as coach of the rifle team at Clinton High School in Clinton, S.C. In addition to her mother, Linda is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Ely; her daughter, April Potter and husband, Royce; one grandson, A.J. Potter; two siblings, Richard Edward Jackson, IV and Rose Marie Riddle; one brother-in-law, Joseph Randazzo; two uncles, Donald Jackson and his wife, Dana and Randolph W. Rowland; one aunt Rose Vallarial and her husband, Dan; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
