Margorie Anne McGhee Dunn, born March 17, 1935 went to be in the arms of the Angels on July 23, 2016. She was preceded in Heaven by her loving and adoptive mother, Florence Steele McGhee, her beloved sister in law, Leona McGhee Hardesty, her brother William, her sister Virginia, and her biological mother, Mary Christine Seay. Margorie leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of sixty years, Lyle Bernard Dunn, Sr., daughters Angela Hefner (Bob) and Stacey Barbour, her son, Lyle B. Dunn, Jr., grandsons Dennis Hehir II and Patrick Hehir, granddaughter Danielle Herndon (Jovon), and their son, Jaydon, as well as a host of other family members and friends. She retired after 33 years from DCAS (DCMA) at BWXT. She was the proud owner and floral designer of Designs by the MAD Florist; she was Acting Chaplain and Life Member of both the Lynchburg Council of Garden Clubs, Inc. and the South Central District of Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs, Acting President of Garden Path Garden Club, and a National Accredited Flower Show Judge with the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs. She touched many a heart in innumerable ways -- as an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, member of our Lady of Lourdes Circle, and her involvement with Holy Cross Regional School and various charities. Margorie was a beautiful spirit -- a loving wife, generous mother, and true friend. She shared her faith, love, wit, strength, kindness, intelligence, humor, creativity, and love of flowers with every life she touched. She never knew a stranger and never saw different colors. She had an incredible sense of humor and loved to tell a joke. She was a very skilled and proliferative poet. Marge had a deep abiding faith in God. She was a survivor, a fighter, a courageous warrior. The family will receive friends from 5:30 â€" 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 28th at Heritage Funeral Service. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church at noon on Friday, July 29th with a reception to follow. Family and friends will then proceed to Oakwood Cemetery in Bedford. In the words of our Angel: “There are Angels among us we know that for a fact. But, how do you spot an Angel? Can you catch them in the act? … Throughout their journey in this world they’re there to do their part. How do you spot an Angel? You must look into the heart.” Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory, 427 Graves Mill Rd., (434)239-2405 is assisting the family. Memories and thoughts may be shared with the family at
