Milton Thomas â€œTommyâ€ Harrison, III, 89, of Bedford, loving husband, father and grandfather, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 29, 2014. Preceded in death by parents Milton T. Harrison, Jr. and Maggie Arrington Harrison Coffey; a sister Janie H. Simms and Nancy H. Dean. He was also predeceased by his first wife, Mae Mitchell Harrison. He leaves behind his loving wife, Leona Smith Harrison; four children, Pamela H. Huang (Jimmy), Ralph Lee Harrison (Robin); Marlene H. Pugh, (Paul); Thomas R. Harrison (Jan); grandchildren, Amber Pugh Gardner (Chris), Megan Pugh Lee (Kevin), Zachary Pugh (Jamie), Kaitlin Harrison, Kylian Harrison and Justin Harrison; 6 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Lauryn and Brysyn Gardner, Clara Lee, Greenleigh and Bristol Pugh; a brother, William B. Harrison; a step-sister, Clara Creasy and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Debbie Reynolds and Sissy Parker his guardian angels, Dr. Linda Beahm and the Hospice team. Tommy was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church and was Chief of Police in Bedford for 25 years. He was a member of the Bedford Breakfast Lions Club receiving the Melvin Jones Fellows award and was a life member of the Bedford Moose Lodge and the Bedford Shoot Club and the Virginia Poultry Association which he helped start. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Bedford Fire Department, Bedford Fire and Rescue or the Main Street United Methodist Church. A memorial service was held 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 at Main Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Ecklund and Rev. Mark Flores officiating.
