Peterson Clark “Pete” Jarvis, of Bedford, departed this life on Wednesday, July 3, 2013. He was the loving husband of Katherine Faye Abbott Jarvis, and together they shared over 36 years of marriage. Born on Feb. 22, 1956 at the Great Lakes Naval Base Hospital in Illinois, he was the son of Helen L. Jarvis of Huachuca City, AZ and James E. Jarvis and his wife, Elizabeth of Forest. He was a master electrician by trade, and was employed by Southern Air, Inc. in the commercial/industrial division. Defined by his strong faith in Christ, and deep respect for family and friendships, Pete was a beloved father, grandfather, son, uncle, and friend to many. In addition to his wife and parents, Pete is survived by three children, Felicia Hinkley and her husband, Daniel of Lynchburg, James Jarvis and his wife, Melissa of Concord, and Christopher Jarvis and his wife, Vanessa of Christiansburg; four grandchildren, James, Camden, Madison, and Delaney; two sisters, Karen Bennett and husband, Danny of Myrtle Beach, SC and Kristy Armstrong and her husband, Darrell of Huachuca City, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Pete’s Life was held Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 6 pm, at Living Word Baptist Church, 4130 Waterlick Road, Forest with Pastor Marvin Suitt and Pastor Sam Jones officiating.
