Randolph Peyton Watson, 88, of Bedford died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015. He was born in Bedford County on Aug. 5, 1927 a son of the late William Randolph Watson and Grace Ann Peters Watson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas William Watson and his sister, Dorothy W. Hamilton. Peyton was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, a retired Rural Mail Carrier with the U.S. Postal Service and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Gladys Virginia Robertson Watson; his son, Thomas R. Watson and wife, Cathy; two grandchildren, Angela Diane Sheriff and husband, Brandon; Elizabeth Ann Watson; a niece, Marilyn Hamilton Dillingham. Memorials may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 505 Bedford or Hunters for the Hungry, 1108 Sedalia School Rd. Big Island, VA 24526. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015 at Main Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Ecklund officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
