On Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016 Sheila Wilkerson, 87, of Gaithersburg, MD passed away. Beloved wife of the late John Krantz Wilkerson, Jr. Survived by her niece Su Carroll (Howard) and their son Saul of Cheshire, England. Other survivors include her late husband’s nephew Tom Wilkerson, his companion Penny and his children, John and Lisa; cousins Carolyn McMaster (Larry), Belle Harrell, Janie Jordan, Howard Garraghty, Jr (Kathy), Page Wilkerson (Kathleen) and Lois Abbott (Kenneth). Sheila was born in Liverpool, England. She moved to Canada in 1967, then to the Washington area in 1971. She married John Wilkerson in 1974. Sheila had a long and successful career in the World Bank's Human Resources function. She was well-known and respected for her skills as a tough and fair negotiator and a loyal colleague. A memorial service will be held at the Guild Memorial Chapel at Asbury Methodist Village, 211 Russell Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD 20877 on Thursday, Jan. 28 at 10:30 AM. An additional service will be held in the spring in Bedford, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National D-Day Memorial Foundation, P.O.
