Mabel Virginia Anderson Jones, 94, of Bedford, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Oakwood Manor. Born on Aug. 8, 1918, a daughter of the late Robert Melvin Anderson and Octavia Overstreet Anderson. In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Cecil Jones; five brothers and five sisters. Mable was a member of Thaxton Baptist Church; she enjoyed life, laughter and hospitality. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce J. Krantz and her husband, AC; three grandchildren, Randy C. Krantz and his wife, Dina, of Bedford, Jeffrey Krantz of Lynchburg and Steve Krantz and his wife, Jenny of Halifax; four great-grandchildren, Brittany Krantz, Captain Spencer Krantz, Emily Krantz and Abbie Krantz; special sister-in-law, Rachel Anderson; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Albert and Nancy Yates. Memorial contributions may be made to: Thaxton Baptist Church, 1067 Penicks Mill Road, Thaxton, VA 24174. A Celebration of Mabel’s life was conducted at 2 pm, on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford with the former pastor of Thaxton Baptist Church, Rev. Johnson Gupton, Rev.
