Wayne Curtis Woolwine, Sr., 71, of Bedford passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Portsmouth, VA on May, 20, 1944. A son of the late Howard Eugene Woolwine, Sr. and Virginia Correll Woolwine. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Haley Nicole Woolwine and a brother, Howard Eugene â€œGeneâ€ Woolwine. Wayne served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He was a member of Morganâ€™s Baptist Church in Bedford where he served as deacon and Sunday school director. For several years Wayne was the owner and operator of several restaurants on Smith Mountain Lake. To name a few locations, Indian Point, Campers Paradise, Beacon Marina and Crazy Horse Marina. Also he ran J&W Sporting Goods for many years. He was an avid outdoorsmen who loved hunting, fishing, cooking, watching t.v. and playing computer games. He will truly be missed by all those who knew him. Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Woolwine, his son, Wayne â€œCurtisâ€ Woolwine, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, three grandsons, Trevor Wayne Woolwine, Austin Seth Woolwine, and Andrew Michael Woolwine; also numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. A funeral service and celebration of Wayneâ€™s life was conducted at 3 pm on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016 at Morganâ€™s Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Mallory, Rev. Jason Arthur and Rev.
