William Hiram Huddleston, 80, of Bedford County, passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013. He was born Dec. 3, 1932 in Bedford County to the late Hollie S. Huddleston and Eva Dooley Huddleston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Betty H. Grace and Sue H. Lahti, and a brother John S. Huddleston. William (Bill) had a drafting business, was a general contractor, worked for the Loan Guaranty Division of the Veterans Administration, but loved being a farmer for years and raising polled Hereford cattle. William is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann Harner Huddleston, his sister-in-law Mary Sue Hamer of Florida, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and two loyal caregivers. Visitation will be at Oakey's Vinton Chapel on Wednesday from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 10AM Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Pastor Ralph Harris of West End United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
