William Patrick Roan, 89, of Bedford passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015. Bill was born in Wilkes Barre, Pa on March 23, 1926. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marie Roan, his brothers, James, and twin Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Bobbi, brother, Tony and wife, Helen, sons, Richard and Regan, granddaughter, Mary Ellen Reihsein, grandson Christopher Roan, and two great grandchildren, many beloved nieces and nephews, brother in law, Chip Coundjeris and his beloved Aunt Sallie Winoker. He graduated from Coughlin HS in Wilkes Barre, Pa. He served in the Navy during WWII as a Radioman 2ndclass. Bill attended the University of Kansas and then went on to his dream jobs in the travel industry. He worked for National Airlines and was NYC District Sales Manager for Air France before co-founding Academic Arrangements Abroad in NYC. Bill loved his family and friends, his dogs Zoe and Ellie, drumming, Big Band music, travel and a good martini. He was a member of the American Legion. Bill will be remembered for all things good and his wonderful sense of humor. A graveside service was held at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens Friday, Nov. 27, 2015 at 11 am with Chaplain Wayne Lanham officiating.
