Mrs. Winifred Katherine Holdren, 96, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Shannon Gray. Mrs. Holdren was born in Forest, Dec. 18, 1916, the youngest of six children of Thomas J. and Lucy Johnston Tankersley. She retired from Silvercraft Furniture after thirty years of service. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Warren E. Bowling and Earnest W. Holdren. She was the mother to Janice B. Marcum (Bill), Norma B. Polanco (Ed), Gary W. Holdren (Becky), Ronnie Holdren, Judith H. Billings (Charlie), Cynthia H. Swaim (Darrell), Gerald â€œRockyâ€ Holdren, deceased (Thelma), Jesse B. Holdren, Alice Holdren, Robert L. Holdren (Judy), 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday at 12 noon in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Rev. Allen Brown. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the service hour. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimerâ€™s Association or Bethany United Methodist Church in Forest.
