Roy Calvin Dooley, 80, of Bedford, died Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Bedford County on Dec. 29, 1933 a son of the late Harry Lee Dooley and Parry Lee Overstreet Dooley. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters, his grandson, Michael Brian Flowers; three great-granddaughters, Dustin Shey Dalton, Skyler Renee Lilly and Cheyenne Nicole Tuck. He was a retired hand furniture carver with Frank Chervan for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Carter Dooley; his children, Jean Flowers and husband, Carl; Tommy Dooley and wife, Penny; Wanda Brown and husband, J.B.; Patricia Jones and husband, Rickie; eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Grace Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Carter Family Cemetery with Rev. Greg Rogers and Rev.
