Barbara Anderson

Barbara J. Anderson, nee Alton, 70, of Collinsville, Ill., born July 19, 1942, in East St. Louis, Ill., died at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at her home.

Mrs. Anderson was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Barbara retired from Famous Barr after 15 years.

Barbara was preceded in death by parents, Alvin and Viola, nee Knepper, Alton; her half brothers, Charles Alton and Lee Alton; and her half sister, Mary Alice Douglas.

Surviving are her husband, Richard Anderson of Collinsville, Ill., whom she married on Dec. 6, 1957; sons and daughter, Richard (Cynthia) Anderson of Collinsville, Ill., Gary Anderson of Collinsville, Ill., and Tammy (Rick) Anderson-Owens of Maryville, Ill.; grandchildren, Richard (Megan) Anderson III of Caseyville, Ill., Kristin Anderson of Collinsville, Ill., Jason (Anna) Anderson of Caseyville, Ill., Jared (Aimee) Anderson of O'Fallon, Mo., Cale Anderson of Collinsville, Ill., Brock Anderson of Collinsville, Ill., Andrew Wilde of Collinsville, Ill., Derrick Wilde of Maryville, Ill., and Ashley Owens of Iowa; sisters, Jo Ann (Ron) Forhan of O'Fallon, Ill., and Carol Alton of Paris, France. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Chase Anderson, Braden Anderson, Ava Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Peyton Anderson, Levi Anderson, Jaxson Anderson, Katie Louis and Austin Louis; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Center. Condolences may be expressed to the family on line at www.herrfuneral.com.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at St. John Evangelical United Church of Christ in Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at the church with the Rev. Tony Minear officiating. Interment in Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Ill.
