Francis Armstrong
Francis F. Armstrong, 89, formerly of Fairview Heights, Ill., went into God's loving arms on Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Francis proudly served in the 409th Infantry Regiment in World War II and retired from the IBEW Local 309 where he was a 60 year member.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lilia Armstrong; one brother and two sisters.
He is mourned by his loving wife of 67 years, Casimira "Cassie," nee Ziaja, Armstrong; daughter, Kathleen (Woody) Martin; son, Kenneth (Marci) Armstrong; granddaughter, Dawn Reinacher; grandson, Chris Reinacher; great-grandsons, Connor and Dawson Reinacher; two step grandchildren, Kristine (Gene) Lowe and Matthew (Terri) Martin; step great-grandchildren, Justin, Aaron, Cody, Colby, Michael and Julie; a brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Betty Ziaja; nieces, Jane (Tim) Abbott and Lynn (Terry) Thies.
The family would like to thank Dr. Brett Winkeler and staff, Dr. Prasad Kandula and staff, Heartland Hospice staff, Faith Countryside and staff, to all those at Cedar Trails for their great care, and to Memorial Hospital. We are truly grateful for each and every one of you. God bless and thank you.
