Samuel Koller
Samuel Wayne Koller, 84, of Cahokia, Ill., born Jan. 17, 1929, in Tuckerman, Ark., passed away Friday, June 14, 2013, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Sam was loved by all, he grew up knowing he had to do things for others and loved the farm he was raised on. When he was 18 he went to serve this country in the Korean War in 1954 to 1955. In 1955 his tank was blown up and he was severely injured thus receiving a purple heart. Since this was in battle he also received a silver metal. After this he went back to his home town and married his sweetheart, Frances Sue Hammonds and went to work for General Motors and eventually moved to St. Louis. Since he was new to the area he asked one of his work mates for directions to a church. Bill Busch directed Sam and Frances to a bible study group known as Jehovah's Witness. Sam and Frances loved the bible their whole lives already and was thrilled to know they could live in a paradise on earth. In 1957 Sam and Frances dedicated their lives by water baptism and served faithfully together until Sam's untimely death. From Sam and Frances union they produces four beautiful girls.
Sam was preceded in death by two daughters, Sandra Kay Crain and Dianna Johnson; and all of his brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his wife, Frances, nee Hammonds, Koller; his daughters, Sherry (Rob) Schroeder and Katherine Phillips; eight grandsons; two granddaughters; 10 great-grandsons; four great-granddaughters; and his spiritual son, Dan Sumerall Jr.

My sweet loving dad I am so sad~but I will soon be glad when HE will call; the dead shall answer. I will miss our 7 o'clock call when we would watch Hee Haw. Also when Marty Stuart we would watch together we would say that 30 minutes was fast. Good memories, good food, good wine that's what I keep in mind. This isnt goodbye my love for our Heavenly Father above holds you. Till then your baby girl will hold you close to my crumbled heart. Love you my dear loving dad.
