Dale Rosenberg
Dr. Dale H. Rosenberg, 85, of Swansea, Ill., born Tuesday, Sept. 13, 1927, in Belleville, Ill., died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Rosewood Care Center in Swansea, Ill.
Dale was a World War II Navy veteran. A member of Peace Lutheran Church, Belleville, Ill. Dr. Rosenberg graduated from University of Illinois Medical School in 1953 and relocated to Belleville and practiced as a general practitioner. He then specialized in plastic, reconstructive, and hand surgery. He was board certified in plastic surgery. He practiced medicine for 45 years. From 1975 to 2005 Dr. Rosenberg was the executive secretary-treasurer of Southern Illinois Medical Association and a past president of St. Clair County Medical Society. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed traveling, gardening, and scuba diving.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry C. and Evelyn, nee Miller, Rosenberg.
Surviving are his wife, Carol A., nee Dunne, Rosenberg of Swansea, Ill., whom he married on July 29, 1984; children, Dirk (Jeffrey) Rosenberg of Olney, Ill., Jenny (Mike) Krim of Millstadt, Ill., Candra (John) Penny of Lakefield, Ontario, Canada and Charles W. Rosenberg of Santa Fe, N.M.; step-children, Teresa (Wes) Stratton of Woodriver, Ill., Kenneth Schofield of Moro, Ill., Michael (Dena) Lay of Maryville, Ill., and Rebecca (Michael) Scheller of Belleville, Ill.; grandchildren, Katie Rosenbergand Neal (Barbara) Rosenberg; six step grandchildren; and brother, Dean (Wilmuth) Rosenberg of Springfield, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois or Peace Lutheran Church. Condolences may be expressed online at www.kurrusfh.com.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Ill.
Friends may also call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at Peace Lutheran Church in Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at Peace Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Bill Pierce officiating. Entombment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory Mausoleum, Belleville, Ill.
