Roth, Josephine T. - Jerseyville  
Josephine Roth Josephine T. Roth, 91, a lifelong resident of Jerseyville, Ill., passed away Monday afternoon, December 15, 2014, at the home of her daughter, Adele M. Roth, M.D. in Belleville, Ill. She was a hospice patient who lost her valiant battle to cancer. She was born April 5, 1923, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary, nee Fitzgibbons, Novotny. In her younger years, she was employed by the United States government and worked at the Pentagon during World War II. After her marriage to Louis J. Roth, Josephine became a wife, loving mother and homemaker. She and Louis were married on Feb. 21, 1957, in Brighton, and the two shared nearly 30 years together before his death on Feb. 10, 1987. Surviving are her two daughters, Adele M. Roth M.D. and her husband, Michael D. Rall of Belleville, Ill., and Barbara Van Walleghen of Jerseyville, Ill.; a son, Frank J. Roth of Jerseyville, Ill.; six grandchildren and their spouses, Jessica Roth, and her companion, Ryan Wood, Amanda and Brian Klaas, David Rall, Olivia Van Walleghen, Vincent Van Walleghen and Louis Van Walleghen; three great-granddaughters; and four sisters, Helen Manns of Godfrey, Ill., Anna Carter of Wood River, Ill., and Lillian Novotny and Kathryn Weiner both of Jerseyville, Ill. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Bridget Lowery and Frances Novotny; and a brother, George Novotny. The family respectfully requests no flowers or plants, but memorials to the St. Francis Restoration Fund or to Masses are preferred. Visitation: Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m., Friday, December 19, 2014, until time of Rosary Recitation at 11:45 a.m. Mass will follow. Funeral: In celebration of her life, a Mass of Christian burial will take place at Noon Friday, December 19, 2014, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Jerseyville, Ill. Father Patrick Gibbons will celebrate. A private burial will take place immediately following the Mass at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Jerseyville, Ill. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Jerseyville, Ill.

Rembish, Adolph - Fulton  
Adolph Rembish Adolph John Rembish, 91, of Fulton, Mo., formerly of Washington Park, Ill., and Manchester, Mo., born March 31, 1923, in Washington Park, Ill., died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at Audrain Medical Center, Mexico, Mo. Adolph was a graduate of East St. Louis Senior High School, and attended St. Louis University for three years. He married Catherine "Katie" Costello on Feb. 3, 1945. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. Adolph and his wife operated the Rembisz Grocery Store in Washington Park, Ill. He was a welder for Union Electric Company at the Cahokia plant, and later in Labadie, Mo., and a maintenance foreman at the Callaway Nuclear Plant in Fulton, Mo. He retired in 1988 after more than 30 years of service with the company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Felicia, nee Zahara, Rembisz of Washington Park, Ill., who emigrated from Poland; three brothers, Frank Rembisz and wife, Edith, of Caseyville, Ill., Edward Rembish of Washington Park, Ill., and John Rembish and wife, Flora, of Maryville, Ill.; a sister, Genevieve Segech and husband, Joe of Washington Park, Ill.; and a grandson, Keith Michael Rembish, who died in infancy. In addition to his wife of 69 years, he is survived by a son, Michael Rembish (Linda Carril); a daughter, Cynthia (Ray) Gabris; four grandchildren, Catherine (Jim) Reid, Cynthia (Wade) Russell, Adam (Suzanne) Gabris, and Ryan (Megan) Gabris; nine great-grandchildren, Aidan and Andrew Reid, Paul, Anthony and Clara Russell, Nathan, Mallory, and Kevin Gabris, Reese Gabris and one as yet unborn great-grandson; brothers-in-law, George Gregurec of Troy, Ill., and Thomas Costello of Springfield, Mo.; and many dear and loving nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Missouri Veterans' Home, 1 Veterans' Drive, Mexico, Mo. 65265 or in the form of masses in Adolph's name or a charity of the donor's choice. Robertson, Catherine - Granite City  
Catherine Robertson Catherine Robertson, 85, of Granite City, Ill., born Sept. 26, 1929, in Granite City, Ill., passed away at 6:07 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, Ill. Catherine retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Granite City after many years of dedicated and loving service as a registered nurse. She was a member of Senior Circle, had a special love of animals and her dogs and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Vasil and Catherine, nee Stedman, Mihu; three brothers, Vasil Mihu, Bucur "Bill" Mihu Sr. and George Mihu; and two sisters, Virginia "Ginny" O'Bear and Louise "Weezie" Harvey. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Dave Messick of Granite City; her cherished dog, Piper; many special nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. Reinhardt, Edith - Edwardsville  
Edith Reinhardt Edith Reinhardt, nee Hawks, 92, of Edwardsville, Ill., formerly of Granite City, Ill., born Aug. 4, 1922, in Granite City, Ill., died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at the University Health Care Center in Edwardsville, Ill. On June 2, 1945, Edith married Milton (Mike) Reinhardt, who was serving in the U.S Coast Guard during World War II at the time. He died in January of 1987. Edith's primary roles in life were to be a good mother and a homemaker. She was a success at both vocations. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Thomas and Bernadine, nee Jones, Hawks who preceded her in death in 1964 and 1984; A brother, Richard (June) Nichols, who passed away in 1976; and a sister, Rose (Charles) Stieler, who passed away in 2012. Surviving are her children: Michael (Cindy) Reinhardt of Edwardsville, Ill., Richard (Debra) Reinhardt of Granite City, Ill., Steven (Joan) Reinhardt of Arlington Texas, Lynn (Patrick) Bury of Edwardsville, Ill., and Lorna (R. Bradley) Eavenson of Granite City, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Nina Reinhardt, Troy Tyler, Lauren Reinhardt, Rachael (Shawn) Kunkel, Lydie Reinhardt, Aaron Bury, and Paige Eavenson; and two great-grandchildren: Emma and Nolan Kunkel. Ronzo, Gregory M. - Cahokia  
Gregory Ronzo Gregory M. Ronzo, 63 of Cahokia, Ill., born Oct. 24, 1951, in Brooklyn, N.Y, died Sunday, December 14, 2014, in St. Louis, Mo. He was a kind and generous person that enjoyed life to its fullest. Gregory worked for the Village of Cahokia as a supervisor for the street department for 33 years, until his retirement. He was loved by many and will be missed greatly. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Marie, (nee Marotta), Ronzo. Surviving are three loving children, two sons, Brandon (Jeannie) Ronzo and Anthony (Angie) Ronzo; and a daughter, Kristen Sapaw, all of Illinois; his brother, Phillip (Kathy) Ronzo of N.Y.; three sisters, Kathy (Brian) McClusky of Illinois; Ann (Charlie) Oldham of Kentucky; and Laura (Theron) Thompson of Texas; eight grandchildren, Jacob, Micah, Kaleb, Abbie, Mollie, and Ellie Ronzo, and Ian and Aubrey Sapaw.
