Von Hatten, Mark - Fairview Heights  
Mark Von Hatten Mark A. Von Hatten, 54, of Fairview Heights, Ill., formerly of Carlyle, Ill., died Thursday, June 25, 2015, at his residence. Mark was a 1979 graduate of Mater Dei High School. He received his bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from SLU Parks College and his MBA from Washington University. He has worked for The Boeing Company for 33 years as an aerospace systems engineer with simulator training systems. Mark had a variety of hobbies including high powered model rocketry, assisted with Pontiac Junior High School Science Olympiads and represented The Boeing Company at many school science programs. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Frank Von Hatten. Surviving are his wife, Anna M., nee Suarez, Von Hatten of Fairview Heights, Ill.; his daughters, Emily Von Hatten and Sophie Von Hatten both of Fairview Heights, Ill.; his stepson Anthony Haselroth of Fairview Heights, Ill.; his mother, Margaret A., nee Schaefer, Von Hatten of Carlyle, Ill.; his brothers, John Thomas (Eileen) von Hatten of St. Louis, Mo., and Richard Von Hatten of Knoxville, Tenn.; his sisters, Mary Beth (Tony) Mezo of Mount Vernon, Ill., Kathleen (Steve) Jones of Herrin, Ill.; and his mother-in-law, Frances B. Suarez of Fairview Heights, Ill. He was our dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. Donations are preferred to the family for current college funds for his children. Visitation will also be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, Ill. Funeral: A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, Ill., with Father Ray Schultz and Most Rev. Stan Schlarman, retired bishop in residence, officiating. Interment will be in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Ill. KASSLY MORTUARY, Fairview Heights, Ill.
