Terveer, Arthur - Millstadt  
Arthur Terveer Arthur R. Terveer, 77, of Millstadt, Ill., formerly of Belleville, Ill., born Nov. 17, 1937, in St. Libory, Ill., passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, at his residence. Art worked for Tractor Supply Company for 20 years. He owned and operated a Montgomery Ward franchise and retired in 2002 from First Choice Delivery Service in St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Terveer served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Millstadt, Ill., and a member of the Over 50 Club. Art enjoyed playing euchre with family and friends, watching his grandchildren play sports, and watching his favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard R. Terveer; his parents, Robert and Mary, nee Schroeder, Terveer; a sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Roger Rulevish; and a sister-in-law, Delores Terveer. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Carol J., nee Bertke, Terveer, whom he married on May 30, 1960; three daughters and a son, Sherry A. (Kenny) Brown of Millstadt, Ill., Bonnie M. (Steve) Knepper of Swansea, Ill., Eileen R. (Brad) Schaller of Millstadt, Ill., and Jeffrey J. (Ginger) Terveer of Millstadt, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, Ryan Terveer, Justin Terveer, Lindsey (Derek) Schuett, Austin Brown, Nick Knepper, MacKenzie Knepper, Brooke (Michael) Ludgate, Dylan Schaller, Drake Terveer, and Riley Terveer; four brothers and a sister, Dan (Rose) Terveer, Roy Terveer, Estelle (Dan) Dalman, Robert (Diane) Terveer, and Paul Terveer; and nieces and nephews. Art's family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Elizabeth Thomas Elizabeth Susie "Betty" Thomas, nee Bemis, 88, of Shiloh, Ill., born July 8, 1927, in Barre, Vt., passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, at Cedarhurst Assisted Living and Memory Care in Shiloh, Ill. Mrs. Thomas worked as a copy center operator for Purdue University. She was a Gold Star Mom from Vietnam American Legion Auxiliary, and a Cub Scout den mother. Betty enjoyed reading, sewing, and raising her five children, to whom she was a great mom. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis H. Thomas; parents, Olin and Robertine Bemis, nee Toussaint; and son, Michael Thomas. Surviving are her children, John (Barb) Thomas of Lafayette, Ind., Mary (Lon) Winger of O'Fallon, Ill., Pat (Don) Souffrant of Las Vegas, Nev., and Kathy (Steve) Chadwell of Lafayette, Ind.; sister, Evelyn Busby of High Point, N.C.; grandchildren, Jill Thomas, Joanna Harrison, Michelle Chadwell, Kristina Winger, Denise Souffrant, Caitlin Winger, and Michael Souffrant; and great-grandchildren, Sydney Scharlach, Caleb Harrison, Jaxson Thomas, Kaden Harrison, and Alex Scharlach. Thuenemann, Pauline - Highland  
Pauline Thuenemann Pauline C. Thuenemann, 82, of Highland, Ill., born March 9, 1933, in Aviston, Ill., died Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Ill. Pauline grew up in Aviston, Ill., and helped on the family farm. She worked for Brown Shoe Company in Trenton, Ill. She married and lived in New Jersey while her husband was in the service. They moved to Highland in 1956. She reared her family. She worked for Pamida, Sears and Shopper's Review. She was active in taking care of her grandchildren. She and her husband were very active with Knight of Columbus. She had been a caregiver for Jeannette Graham for years. They loved to travel to Europe, Hawaii, and the Western States. She was a fan of Neil Diamond and her favorite song was "Sweet Caroline". Pauline was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Knights of Columbus 1580. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Bernard "Van" Thuenemann, whom she married on May 11, 1955, and who passed away on Jan. 6, 2014; her parents, Theodore and Helena, nee Wolters, Frohn; a sister, Lorone M. Rehkemper; and her brother, Charles F. Frohn. Surviving are her children, Alan S. (Lori) Thuenemann of Highland, Ill., Vicky L. (Edgar) Zurliene of Greenwood, Mo., Kurt V. (Charlotte) Thuenemann of Prairie Village, Kan., and Kevin A. (Dawn) Thuenemann of Highland, Ill.; grandchildren, Joshua A. (Rachel) Thuenemann of Lees Summit, Mo., Jared A. (Gabby) Thuenemann of Edwardsville, Ill., Ashley L. (Sanford) Queen of Olathe, Kan., Kahla R. Zurliene of Kansas City, Mo., Sophia N. Thuenemann of Prairie Village Kan., Sabrina C.
