Curtis Reinacher
Curtis A. Reinacher, 85, of Alhambra, Ill., born Jan. 2, 1928, in Highland, Ill., passed away at 11:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.
Curt was a 1946 graduate of Highland High School. After school he worked at Hagnauer and Knoebel Hardware Co. as a mechanic. In October of 1950 he entered the U.S. Army and spent 18 months in Japan. After returning home he returned to Hagnauer and Knoeble and worked there for a total of 16 years. In 1964 he started to work for Gehrig's Store in Alhambra as a propane truck driver and service repairman. He spent 30 years there and retired in 1994. He and his wife enjoyed Polka Dancing and attended Polka Festivals in Michigan. He also collected toy tractors and traveled to toy tractor shows and loved visiting with other collectors.
Curt was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Prairietown, Ill., where he was head usher. He was also a member of the Alhambra Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years, a member of the Madison County Fire Association, the Alhambra American Legion Post 1147, a life member of VFW Post 5694 in Highland and the 3M Fire Organization.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Marie, nee Barenfenger, Reinacher, whom he married on Feb. 16, 1958, in Prairietown, Ill., and who died Aug. 28, 2006; parents, Albert Louis and Emma L., nee Sudhoff, Reinacher; sister, Dorothy Reinacher at birth; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth A., nee Plocher, Reinacher.
Surviving are sister-in-law, Gloria M. Barenfenger of Alhambra, Ill.; brother, Melvin R. Reinacher of Marine, Ill.; sisters, Delores E. (Dean) Rinderer of Highland, Ill., and Virginia I. (Anton "Tony") Vosholler of Highland, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Prairietown, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with Rev. Dale A. Skeesick, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Prairietown Cemetery.
