Adam G. Golec, 88, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born Dec. 20, 1924, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at his residence.
Adam worked in the account department for Swift and Company and later at Vigoro Industries. He was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps
veteran and served active duty in the Pacific Theater.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary, nee Novak, Golec; his two brothers, Joe and Walt Golec; and his sister, Jane Deering.
Surviving are his wife, Dolores, nee Roewe, Golec; his son, Kenneth (Wendy) Golec of Acworth, Ga.; his two granddaughters, Claire E. Golec and Caroline E. Golec; his sister, Frances Deering of Fairview Heights, Ill.; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Funeral procession to leave at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, from Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill., for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, Ill., with Father Ray Schultz officiating. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
