Adella Wombacher

Adella G. Wombacher, nee Behrmann, 93, of Belleville, Ill., born Nov. 20, 1920, in St. Libory, Ill., died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.

Mrs. Wombacher had worked for Hunter Packing Company in East St. Louis, Ill. She was a member of St. Peter's Cathedral Parish, Belleville, Ill., where she was a member of the Perpetual Help Sodality and the Cathedral Quilters. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, a past president of the AARP Downtown Belleville Chapter 2827, and a quilter with PSOP. Adella was also a member of the Belleville Senior Citizens and had been a dancer with the Dandy Dancers Square Dance Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, John Wombacher, whom she married on Nov. 13, 1943, and who died on Dec. 18, 1983; her parents, John G. and Mary, nee Hummert, Behrmann; two brothers, Robert Behrmann and Ralph Behrmann; and four sisters, Eleanor Luechtefeld, Esther Middendorf, Lillian Bullard, and Mildred Kramper.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Steven Heimann of New Baden, Ill.; two grandchildren, Ben and Jennifer Heimann; a dear friend, Milton Keck of Belleville, Ill.; four sisters, Mary Ann (Les) McLain of Elsberry, Mo., Florence Lickenbrock of St. Libory, Ill., Ruth Nobe of Venedy, Ill., and Gladys Seering of Mascoutah, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Florus "Flory" Kramper of St. Charles, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Behrmann and Elvidine Behrmann, both of Belleville, Ill.; numerous nieces and nephews; and other family members.

Visitation: Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2014, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 9:40 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2014 from the funeral home for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter's Cathedral Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill., with Msgr. John Myler and Msgr. James Buerster concelebrating. Burial will follow at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
