Angela Blanche Venhaus, 87, of Trenton, Ill., born Sept. 4, 1925, in Highland, Ill., died on Sunday July 21, 2013, at Clinton Manor in New Baden, Ill.
Blanche worked at GTE Telephone as a switchboard operator, and Highland Supply. She had fond love for her grandchildren, enjoyed her time with family and friends, playing cards, dancing, reading, shopping and her flower garden. She was a member of St Mary Catholic Church and the Ladies Sodality in Trenton, Ill., and the VFW
Auxiliary in Trenton, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence "Pep" Venhaus, whom she married on Aug. 27, 1949, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, Ill., and who died on June 22, 2007; parents, John and Ann, nee Schumacher, Luber; brothers, Leonard Luber, Walt Luber, Bernard Luber, Jack Luber; sisters, Lucille Kapp and Joan Reim; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marion Luber, Louis Kapp, Harold Reim, Bill Holshouser, Edwin Venhaus, Florence and Cletus Holtgrave, Frieda and Joseph Kohlbrecher, Orville Kues, Marcella Venhaus, Ludwig Venhaus, Alma and Edmund Rohling and Marie Venhaus.
Surviving are her children, Carolyn (Douglas) Franey of Trenton, Ill., Jeanne (Jim) Stein of Frisco, Colo., Sandy (Bob) Sullivan of Evanston, Ill., and Tom "Rusty" (Christy) Venhaus of Trenton, Ill.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Marge Holshouser of Highland, Ill.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Doris Luber of Highland, Ill., Elmer "Bud" Venhaus of Trenton, Ill., Ben (Rosemary) Venhaus of Aviston, Ill., Esther Kues of Florissant, Mo., and Elvera (Larry) Tonnies of Trenton, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013, and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday July 25, 2013, at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton, Ill. The VFW Auxiliary will hold services at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday July 25, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton, Ill., with Father Joseph Rascher officiating. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Trenton, Ill.
