Cleo V. Kronenberger, 89, of Belleville, Ill., born Aug. 31, 1923, in Belleville, died at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, July 4, 2013, at her residence.
Mrs. Kronenberger was a school teacher
at various area elementary schools. She received her master's degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and was an avid reader with a particular interest in American History. She also received an education on Tap and Ballet from Franco Boreo School of Dance. Cleo devoted her life to care for her sons, Tom and Brian, and family meant everything to her. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Belleville, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Kronenberger, whom she married on March 15, 1941, and who died Dec. 19, 1988; her parents, William and Rachel, nee Jowette, Davis; a daughter, Diane Luchtefeld; and two brothers and four sisters.
Surviving are her four children, Thomas Kronenberger, Alan (Alana) Kronenberger, Brian Kronenberger and Brad (Lila) Kronenberger; seven grandchildren, Chris Luchtefeld, Lisa (Clay) Goodwin, Andrea (Riley) Carpenter, Adam (Amy) Kronenberger, Aaron (Amanda) Kronenberger, Joshua (Michelle) Kronenberger and Zachary Kronenberger; four great-grandchildren, Janee Jackson, Wil Carpenter, Jonathan (Ashley) Goodwin and Ashley (Todd) Hayes; and two sisters, Amy Klein and Vivian Vance.

Funeral: A memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at the church with Monsignor William McGhee officiating.
