David England, 63, of Granite City, Ill., born June 25, 1950, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Friday, April 18, 2014, at Gateway Medical Center in Granite City, Ill., with his loving family by his side.
David was a United States Army
veteran who proudly served his country. On Jan. 9, 1970, David married Donna Stephan, the love of his life at the First Baptist Church in Fairview Heights, Ill. David had worked for Mobil Oil Corporation as a trouble shooter for many years. He enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, fishing, and working on cars. David could fix anything that had an engine. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman England and Theresa, nee Hoffman, Reaka; a daughter-in-law, Cara England; two sisters, Vickie Byrd and Judy Cook; two brothers-in-law, Ronnie Stephan and Dave Goleanor; and his nephew, Jerry Dean Blackwell Jr.
Surviving are his loving wife of 44 years, Donna England of Granite City, Ill.; dear children, Dan (Patricia) England of O'Fallon, Ill., and DeeDe England, Darren (Carrie Boyd) England and Dustin England all of Granite City, Ill.; two sisters, Jeannine (Jerry) Blackwell of Caseyville, Ill., and Tammy (Jeff) Davis of Belleville, Ill.; grandchildren, Joshua England, Austin England, Hailey England and Dylan Alter; an aunt, Sharon Panek of Fairview Heights, Ill.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Phillip (Barb) Stephan, Billy (Sharon) Stephan, Kay Goleaner, Lori (Allen) Hensley and Kathy (Daniel) Spangler; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial donations may be given to the England family and will be accepted at the Elks Lodge
