Jay J. Rinderer, 50, of Pierron, Ill., born Sept. 26, 1963, in Highland, Ill., passed away at 8:40 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, in Pocahontas, Ill.
Jay was born and grew up in Highland. He was a 1981 graduate of Highland High School where he played baseball and football. He attended Rend Lake College on a baseball scholarship. After college he worked at Trobitt Decorating, Fox Creek Golf Course, an environmental company cleaning oil spills in the Gulf and Chicago, Morgan Linen in 1991, Broadway Tavern from 1994-2000, Meat cutter at Grantfork Meats. Jay was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose 2479 in Highland and the Highland Sportsman Club. He played American Legion Baseball and Softball Leagues in Highland. He enjoyed fishing. He was an excellent skier, and avid Blue's Hockey Fan, and loved his daughters very much.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Filmer Rinderer; paternal grandmother, Viola S., nee Hug, Rinderer; maternal grandfather, Leon L. Zobrist; and maternal grandmother, Marie A., nee Holtkoetter, Zobrist.
Surviving are his daughters, Arielle N. Rinderer of Maryville, Ill., and Calie J. Rinderer of Maryville, Ill.; his parents, Darrell F. Rinderer of Highland, Ill., and Jean Marie, nee Zobrist, Rinderer of Highland, Ill.; his sister, Michelle R. Perkins of Highland, Ill.; a niece, Briea Jean Marie Perkins (twin) of Highland, Ill.; a nephew, Samuel Darrell Perkins(twin) of Highland, Ill.; and girlfriend, Laurie L. Coonce of Pocahontas, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2014, and 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home, Highland, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Kniepkamp officiating. Interment will be held at Highland City Cemetery, Highland, Ill.
